Universal Next Steps
Whilst everybody’s retrofit journey and home improvement projects are different and unique, there are some immediate next steps that are universal options.
- Most residents will be eligible for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. Apply for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme: Overview – GOV.UK
- You may also be eligible for support through the Warm Homes Local Grant scheme. You can check eligibility here.
- We also suggest using Snugg – Making Home Energy Efficiency Simple and Affordable. By signing up, you can access your Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) and get tailored recommendations to help improve your home’s energy efficiency.

Norfolk Warm Homes is a partnership of local councils that helps residents reduce energy bills by providing fully funded grants for home energy improvements. The scheme supports eligible households with measures like insulation, solar panels and heat pumps, making homes more energy efficient, warmer, and cheaper to run.

If you’re in the Norwich area, Our Power’s Heat Pump Buddy Scheme can connect you with a local heat pump owner who can show you how their system works and share their experience of the installation process.
Our Power also offers energy advice to households through:

Great Yarmouth
Support is also available to residents in Great Yarmouth via DIAL who can offer energy home visits for some residents.
DIAL is a local charity that helps residents reduce energy bills by offering free advice on money management, benefits, and debt. They support people to maximise their income, access financial support, and manage household budgets, including help for those struggling with heating costs.
